KIPPENS COMMUNITY COMMONS
Located in the heart of the community, the existing Kippens Outdoor Recreation Complex currently features a playground, a bandstand, tennis, basketball, and beach volleyball courts, a soccer pitch, two ball fields, trails, a dog park, and a community garden. As the Town looks toward the future, it has identified the need for thoughtful improvements to enhance this well-used recreation space. Key priorities include upgrading the playground to provide multi-generational and multi-ability opportunities for all ages to socialize and play, revitalizing existing activity zones, enhancing the performance space, and improving trails to strengthen connections throughout the park.
To guide these improvements, the Town is developing a master plan that reflects the community’s vision for the park’s future. Last fall, elected officials, residents, and other stakeholders participated in visioning sessions, workshops, and an online community survey to share their ideas for the future of the site. A preliminary conceptual site plan was created based on the feedback received, and in February, this concept was presented to Town Council for their input.
Now, as we move toward finalizing the master plan, we invite you to explore the conceptual renderings of the park, review the presentation made to Town Council, and share your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape a space that reflects the community’s vision and meets the needs of residents for years to come.
